CFA Institute Appoints Olivier Fines, CFA, as Head of Advocacy for EMEA
CFA Institute, the global association of investment management professionals, has appointed Olivier Fines, CFA, to the role of Head, Advocacy EMEA, effective immediately.
Based in London, Olivier leads CFA Institute advocacy and capital markets policy work in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, representing the organisation to industry and regulators in the region. In his role, Olivier will contribute to regional strategic initiatives to advance the advocacy objectives of CFA Institute, which include promoting fair and transparent capital markets and investor protection.
“Olivier brings extensive experience working with regulatory bodies and policymakers in the European Union and the United States”, said Kurt Schacht, CFA, Managing Director for Standards, Advocacy and Policy Outreach at CFA Institute. “His technical and practitioner experience in the field of capital markets, as well as investment management policy assessment and implementation, is a great asset for CFA Institute and the 35,000 CFA charterholders in the EMEA region. We look forward to the contributions Olivier will bring to his new role, including his expert-level input to regulatory responses, research position papers and advocacy outreach.”
Olivier previously served as Head of UK Compliance for the Merchant Banking Division of Rothschild & Co, as a Technical Specialist on the Asset Management Sector Team at the Financial Conduct Authority, and as an Asset Manager Research Analyst with Fitch Ratings. He is a CFA charterholder, holds a Master’s in Management Degree (Finance) from SKEMA Business School in France and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from HEC Montreal in Canada.
