CFA Institute Names Martin Colburn Chief Information Officer
CFA Institute, the global association of investment management professionals, has named Martin Colburn as its Chief Information Officer, effective November 11, 2019.
Reporting to the President and CEO, Colburn will lead a global IT team in accelerating the implementation of a new set of integrated technology tools, enhancing the charterholder and society experience , as well as upgrading IT’s infrastructure, architecture, and service.
“Technology is increasingly a critical part of any organization, and Marty is a proven technologist who has successfully unlocked business value and realized better outcomes for customers while streamlining operations.” said Margaret Franklin, CFA, President and CEO of CFA Institute. “With his deep experience leading IT and operations functions, we are thrilled to announce his addition to our organization.”
In his previous role, Colburn served simultaneously as Chief Technology Officer and Chief Information Officer at the National Democratic Institute, a non-profit, non-partisan organization working to support and strengthen democratic institutions worldwide, where he led the organization’s technology strategy, including application and development, maintenance, architecture, and operations to better align with the organization’s mission and goals across 60 countries. Additionally, he has held senior leadership positions at Marriott Corporation, FINRA, and Fannie Mae.
