United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund Supports Employees’ Professional Development by Offering Suite of CFA Institute Certificates

CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, announces today that the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) will offer several certificates from CFA Institute to its employees. More than 50 of the firm’s staff members will pursue the Certificate in ESG Investing, the Investment Foundations Certificate, and Data Science for Investment Professionals Certificate.

The Certificates that the employees will be pursuing include:

  • The Certificate in ESG Investing offers learners both practical application and technical knowledge in the fast-growing field of ESG investing. It aims to strengthen market integrity by delivering the benchmark knowledge and skills required by investment professionals to integrate environmental, social and governance factors into the investment process.

  • The Investment Foundations Certificate provides a comprehensive, foundational overview of the investment industry and its structure, function, and role in global capital markets and society. Participants will learn real, tangible knowledge of the fundamentals of the industry and receive a framework to better understand, solve and communicate solutions for complex issues.

  • The Data Science for Investment Professionals Certificate is designed to provide current or aspiring investment professionals with practical knowledge of the fundamentals of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques and how they are used in the investment process.

The employees that will participate in the professional learning programs span the Investments, Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Information Technology teams.

About UNJSPF

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund was established in 1949, by a resolution of the General Assembly of the United Nations, to provide retirement, death, disability and related benefits for staff upon cessation of their services with the United Nations, under Regulations that, since then, have been amended at various times.

As an independent inter-agency entity, the Fund operates under its own Regulations as approved by the General Assembly and, in accordance with its governance structure, is administered by the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Board, which currently consists of 33 members, representing the 25 UNJSPF member organizations.

The Fund has offices in New York (United States) and Geneva (Switzerland) and two liaison offices, one in Nairobi (Kenya) and one in Bangkok (Thailand).
